Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first roles on television were two appearances in the role of Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne which was played by her mom. Her parents, however, did not allow her to act until she turned an adult because of the effects stress would be able to have on their daughter. Perry was a shy teenager and was not a performer. She began acting at Northwestern University to gain friends after she was moved from Boston University. Perry made her debut as an actress in New York after graduation, performing in minor role on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, the feeling of homelessness made Perry come back to California to work as a stage actress. Her mother and she appeared on Broadway as a couple for the play The Other Place, in 2013. Kevin McKidd, her father Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer prize-winning film Anna Christie together with her in the year 2015. Perry played a role in 9 episodes of the ABC crime thriller The Family in 2016. Her father portrayed her in the ABC show Scandal. In the same year, the actress was selected to play the younger model of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again playing a young version of her mother's role. The role was selected via auditions the fact that she had a deep connection with it.
